John Hollis:
I studied percussion performance at Washington State University with Prof. David Jarvis, continued my classical training with Seattle Symphony principal percussionist Michael Crusoe, while developing my set playing with Tom Kelley, Larry Mahlis and Steve Smith (Seattle Drum School). I have played with a variety of bands and songwriters (see Bands/Projects) currently with San Francisco-based rock band Gold Minor, and various bands, cabarets, and theater projects, in the Bay Area and Seattle. I play in rock, funk, pop, metal, EDM, hip-hop, industrial, honky-tonk, and jazz outfits with multiple appearances at SXSW, Sundance Film Festival, TieCon, and various festivals throughout the US. During my tenure at WSU, I was employed with the Washington-Idaho Symphony for several years, while performing in various classical and 20th Century ensembles. Musical theater credits include Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Hair, Rent, Tommy and more.
