***********************

I have always enjoyed performing in a variety of bands and theater, in a wide array of styles and circumstances. This is something I highly recommend to my students: stretch your imagination and abilities as a performer as much as possible. It will greatly improve your musicality and future performing options.

I have performed as a drummer and percussionist since grade school where I began as a snare drummer in the neighboring school’s symphonic band. I studied in private lessons throughout high school while performing in concert, marching, jazz and rock bands. I was a performing arts scholarship recipient and continued my studies as a percussion performance major at Washington State University. While at WSU, I played in a host of musical ensembles including the WSU Percussion Ensemble, Wind Symphony, Big Band, and dozens of chamber music ensembles. I simultaneously acquired a seat (and spent several years) as a classical percussionist in the Washington Idaho Symphony.

Once I relocated to Seattle, I began performing for local theater and rock bands. My first contract, “Willy Wonka” ran nearly 150 shows. I recorded and spent time on the road touring with Sister Psychic, Voyager One, Gerald Collier and the Squirrels. I recorded and toured various parts of the US with Manooghi Hi and Ian Moore, playing Austin’s SXSW festival several times, the Sundance Film Festival, various television & radio broadcasts, indoor/outdoor venues, clubs, events and festivals.

I currently play in various theater productions, live bands and recording sessions. I also teach drums, percussion, stage and studio instruction and work in production as a stage hand and sound/lighting technician.
